Loading screen troubleshooting
Straight answers to the problems that actually come up when you put a loading screen on a FiveM server. These apply whether or not you use our builder — they are about how FiveM works.
Your FiveM loading screen isn’t showing
Players connect and see the default FiveM screen, a black screen, or nothing at all. Almost always one of six causes — work through them in order.
Players are stuck on the loading screen
The screen shows but never goes away, or players hang at a percentage. This is usually the shutdown directive or a script error — not the design itself.
fxmanifest.lua loadscreen, explained properly
What each loading-screen directive does, when to use a local file versus a URL, and the mistakes that quietly break the screen.
The music on your loading screen isn’t playing
Audio is silent in game but works in the browser, or plays for some players and not others. Usually the file, the URL or autoplay — each has a clear fix.
Your changes aren’t showing up in game
You edited the screen, saved, and players still see the old one. This is caching, and there are three layers of it.
